林美君博士是教育部课程规划与发展司母语处副司长兼特级专科督导，负责监督中学华文课程及相关特别项目的发展。她的研究兴趣包括华文阅读困难、课程和推广语文学习活动的评估。此外，她还担任推广华文学习委员会秘书长，该委员会与社区伙伴合作，组织丰富多彩的活动，为学生营造一个学习与应用华文的大环境。

高松老师是教育部课程规划与发展司母语处华文组主导专科督导。她拥有多年的教学和教材编写经验，曾在中国（中学、高中）、新加坡（中学）执教长达近20年。此外，她曾参与2007版小学三年级至六年级、2015版小学四年级至六年级华文教材，以及2011版和2021版中学华文教材的开发与出版工作，致力于推广华文教育。

翁淑英老师拥有多年的教学经验，目前担任圣安东尼嘉诺撒中学母语部主任。她深谙青少年心理，也热衷于协助家长建立良好的亲子关系，让孩子顺利适应中学生活。

Profile

Dr Jocelyn Lim serves as the Deputy Director and Master Specialist of the Mother Tongue Languages Branch, Curriculum Planning and Development Division at the Ministry of Education. She oversees the development of the Secondary Chinese Language Curriculum and the special programmes. Her research interests include Chinese reading difficulties, curriculum evaluation, and language promotion programme assessment. Additionally, she holds the position of Head Secretariat for the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, collaborating with community partners to organise programmes and events aimed at promoting the use of the Chinese language beyond schools.

Mdm Gao Song is the Lead Specialist of the Secondary Chinese Language Unit of the Mother Tongue Languages Branch, Curriculum Planning and Development Divisions at the Ministry of Education. She has nearly 20 years of experience in teaching and curriculum development, having taught at middle and high schools in China, as well as at secondary schools in Singapore. She was involved in the planning and development of Chinese Language textbooks for primary levels 3 to 6 (2007 Edition), primary levels 4 to 6 (2015 Edition), as well as the planning and development of Chinese Language textbooks for secondary schools (2011 and 2021 Editions), all dedicated to promoting Chinese Language education.

Ms Ong Sok Eng Eileen is an experienced educator and currently serves as Head of Department for Mother Tongue Languages at St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School. With a deep understanding of adolescent psychology, she is passionate about supporting parents in cultivating strong and meaningful relationships with their children, supporting their transition from primary to secondary school.

Synopsis

The transition of students from primary to secondary school marks a significant milestone in their lives. To ensure a smooth transition, it is important to have a clear understanding of Chinese Language learning in secondary school. This sharing session will cover:

• Overview of Chinese Language curriculum and its characteristics at secondary level;

• Role of parents in supporting a smooth transition of their children from primary to secondary school; and

• Enrichment opportunities to support Chinese Language learning at secondary school level.
