林心惠女士于2012年加入新报业媒体，曾任《联合早报》及《联合晚报》记者，负责住房与政治等专线报道，并为《联合早报》海外受众策划社交媒体内容。

目前，她担任早报校园主编，负责统筹面向学前至中学生的系列华文刊物。通过制作丰富的华文阅读资源与新闻内容，林女士致力于培养学生对华文与中华文化的兴趣，同时增强他们的新闻素养。

Profile

Ms Lim Xin Hui began her journalism career in 2012 and has worked at both Lianhe Zaobao and Lianhe Wanbao. Over the years, she has covered a wide range of beats, including housing, crime, court, and politics, and has also developed social media content for Lianhe Zaobao’s overseas audience.

Xin Hui is currently Editor of ZBSchools, where she oversees a suite of Chinese language student publications for learners from preschool to secondary level. In this role, she fosters students’ interest in the Chinese language and culture while strengthening their news literacy.

我们该如何从小培养孩子对华文的兴趣？《小小拇指》《小拇指》和《大拇指》是专为学前及小学阶段打造的学生刊物，内容依据不同年龄层的语言发展及课程需求而设计。《拇指家族》系列刊物通过富有本地色彩、贴近学生生活的专题、新闻、故事和游戏，使华文学习变得更生动有趣。

本分享会将介绍《拇指家族》系列刊物的内容特色，并提供实用建议，帮助教师和家长善用这些华文新闻资源，培养孩子的阅读习惯，将华文学习融入日常生活，循序渐进地建立学习自信与兴趣。

Synopsis

How can we spark a lasting interest in Chinese among young learners? This sharing session introduces the "Thumbs Up" series—"Thumbs Up Little Junior", "Thumbs Up Junior", and "Thumbs Up"—designed for preschool and primary students.

Participants will gain insights into the publications’ age-appropriate content, ranging from stories and news to interactive features that make Chinese reading engaging and accessible. The session will also share practical ways educators and parents can use these resources to support language learning, build reading habits, and connect Chinese to students’ everyday lives.
