林秀玲女士毕业于南洋理工大学国立教育学院，并于英国剑桥大学取得第二语言教育硕士学位。她曾任高级华文教师，具备丰富的小学教育、课程发展及课堂实践经验。

此外，林女士曾在国立教育学院任教六年，现继续担任兼职讲师，积极参与教师教育与专业发展工作。她的专业领域包括儿童文学、华文教育及教师专业发展。

林女士热衷于推广儿童文学，致力于在年轻学习者中培育积极的阅读文化，提升他们的语言能力，并培养终身阅读的兴趣与习惯。

Profile

Ms Lim Tiew Ling holds a BA (Honours) in Chinese Education from NTU-NIE and an MPhil in Second Language Education from the University of Cambridge. A former Senior Teacher (Chinese Language), she brings extensive experience in primary education, curriculum development, and classroom practice. She previously served as a lecturer at the National Institute of Education (NIE) for six years and continues to contribute as a part-time lecturer. Her areas of expertise include children’s literature, Chinese Language education, and teacher professional development. She is deeply passionate about promoting children’s literature and is committed to nurturing a vibrant reading culture among young learners, that develops both strong language proficiency and a lifelong love of reading.

一本绘本，就是开启亲子对话、想象与成长的钥匙。在新加坡多语环境中，孩子接触华语的机会有限，“如何让孩子自然开口说华语”成为许多家长的共同挑战。

本工作坊将以轻松生动、充满乐趣的方式，带领家长掌握亲子绘本共读的方法，让阅读成为孩子每天期待的亲子温暖时光，也成为在家自然学习华语的最佳机会。

Synopsis

A picture book can open the door to conversations, imagination, and growth between parent and child. In Singapore’s multilingual environment, children often have limited exposure to Mandarin, making “how do I help my child speak Mandarin naturally?” a common concern among parents.

This interactive workshop offers a relaxed, interactive, and enjoyable space for parents to learn how to conduct a fun and interactive picture book reading experience with their children. Through practical strategies and live demonstrations, participants will discover how to turn reading into daily moments their children look forward to, and transform them into natural and meaningful opportunities for learning Mandarin at home.
